Dakota Wesleyan Hosts South Dakota Special Olympics

Mitchell, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan University proudly partnered with South Dakota Special Olympics for an exciting two-day event that brought together athletes from all over the state. More than 100 DWU student-athletes volunteered their time and energy to support and engage with Special Olympics participants in a series of competitive and inclusive activities.

The event featured both the State Tournament and a 3v3 Tournament, giving athletes the opportunity to showcase their skills, determination, and teamwork. DWU students played a vital role in facilitating games, officiating matches, and providing enthusiastic support to ensure an unforgettable experience for all involved.

This collaboration reflects Dakota Wesleyan’s deep commitment to community engagement, inclusivity, and the power of sports to bring people together. The university is proud to support the Special Olympics and looks forward to continuing this meaningful partnership in the future.
