SIOUX CENTER, Iowa — Dakota Wesleyan turned in a handful of All-Conference performances and competitive showings during the 2026 GPAC Indoor Track & Field Championships, held Feb. 20–21 at the Dordt Indoor Track.
Team titles went to Doane on the men’s side and host Dordt on the women’s side. Doane set a GPAC meet record with 235 points to win the men’s crown, while Dordt edged Doane 200-199 in a dramatic women’s finish that came down to the 4×400 relay. Concordia University Nebraska placed third in both team races.
For Dakota Wesleyan, the meet was highlighted by All-GPAC efforts in both the field events and multi-events.
On the men’s side, Quenton Walls led the Tigers with a fourth-place finish in the triple jump, earning All-Conference honors with a mark of 13.58 meters. The performance provided DWU’s top point-producing finish of the meet.
Dakota Wesleyan also saw participation in the sprint and middle-distance events. Dustin Lemaster placed 14th in the 400 meters and later added a 19th-place finish in the 600 meters, while teammate Kellen Brozik finished 17th in the 600. Though outside the scoring positions, the trio added depth against a strong GPAC field.
The DWU women were paced by Dani Deffenbaugh, who secured All-GPAC recognition with a seventh-place finish in the indoor pentathlon, totaling 2,964 points. Deffenbaugh posted solid marks across the five-event competition, including strong showings in the hurdles, long jump and 800-meter segments.
Freshman Riley Jones added a 12th-place finish in the pentathlon, while Devin Hongslo competed in the weight throw for the Tigers.
Across the conference, four men’s records and six women’s records fell during the two-day meet, underscoring the league’s depth heading into the postseason.
Dakota Wesleyan now awaits potential qualifiers for the NAIA Indoor Track & Field Championships, scheduled for March 5–7 in Gainesville, Florida.
