Dimock-Emery advanced to Saturday night’s semifinals with a 10-7 win vs. Larchwood on Thursday night at Cadwell Park in the quarterfinals of the Class B Amateur Baseball Tournament.
The Raptors broke the game open with a five run seventh inning after a 13 minute rain delay with the game tied at 5-5.
Sam Pischke’s double to deep left field scored Peyton Nash and Jason Schmidt to give Dimock-Emery the lead for good. A triple to center field by Josh Enquist would score two more to give the Raptors a 10-5 lead.
Phil Johnson got the win on the mound, throwing 4 2/3 innings of relief of Schmidt. Johnson allowed two run on five hits with one walk and one strikeout. Schmidt went the first 4 1/3 innings, giving up five runs and nine hits for a no decision.
Dimock-Emery got the scoring started with three runs in the bottom of the second inning with a two run double from Drew Kitchens. The Raptors added two more runs in the bottom of the third inning on a triple from Chase Arend to take a 5-2 lead.
Larchwood tied the game at 5-5 with three runs in the top of the fifth inning, thanks to back-to-back doubles from Keaton Grevengoed and Chase Vander Feen. The loss ends a 12 game winning streak for Larchwood as they conclude of the season with a 19-6 record out of the State Line League.
Dimock-Emery will play Platte in the semifinals on Saturday at 5:30 pm on KORN News Radio FM 101.3/AM 1490 and KORNRadio.com. The Raptors defeated Platte 8-3 on July 14th after losing to the Killer Tomatoes on June 6th, 8-6.
