
SIOUX CITY, IA — The Dakota Wesleyan softball team was picked to finish sixth in the 2026 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Coaches Preseason Poll, the GPAC announced this morning.
Dakota Wesleyan received 75 points after finishing 34-16 in a historic year. The Tigers look to build on that under first-year head coach Stephen Oswald Jr.
Midland (NE) has been picked to take the crown with 114 votes, while Morningside (Iowa) follows suit with 110 points.
DWU will open its 48-game season on the road for a tournament in Sioux Center, Iowa, against York (NE), Culver-Stockton (MO), Mount Mercy, and Mayville State. On February 6th, DWU will face York (NE) at 12:00 PM and Culver-Stockton (MO) at 4:00 PM at ASBSC and play Mount Mercy and Mayville State the following day at 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM. The Tigers will be at home four times this year, with the home opener scheduled for March 18th against Northwestern (Iowa) at 3:00 PM at Dr. McWhirter Field.
