Mitchell, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan opened their double header against the Waldorf University Warriors with a 14-4 win in game 1. Followed by a 12-0 win in game 2. The Tigers combined their solid hitting with clean defense to take control early on, allowing them to build their lead throughout game one.

Bottom of 1st Inning: Dakota Wesleyan
DWU jumped out to a 2-0 lead after an RBI groundout from Macy Moore allowing Peyton Bagley to score. Followed by a run-scoring single by Jaden Warner that rounded with McKinnely Mull scoring her first run of the day.
Top of 2nd Inning: Waldorf
Waldorf answered back with their next offense attempt by tying the game 2-2. Reagan Ridout doubled in one run and Jacyee Plath followed with a grounded RBI.
Bottom of the 2nd Inning: Dakota Wesleyan
McKinnely Mull responded with a triple to center field, driving in the go ahead run and giving her team a 3-2 lead. The runner who scored the run was Peyton Bagley.
Top of the 3rd Inning: Waldorf
Waldorf tied the game once again at 3-3 with a solo home run by Timber Oakes.
Bottom of 4th Inning: Dakota Wesleyan
The Tigers found an opening in the Warriors defense and they scored a 6-run inning. Two back to back solo home runs from Alison Ernsberger and Peyton Bagley. With bases loaded Jaden Warner stepped onto the plate and brought home her three teammates, Macy Moore, Ashlen Johnson, and McKinnely Mull. Which warned her of a 3 RBI double. Alessandra Ciurca was the last to score with an RBI groundout as she brought Jaden Warner home.

McKinnely Mull continued her strong at-bat with 2 more RBI’s, bringing in Jaycee Tebay and McKenna Thomason to make it 11-3.

Macy Moore opened the scoring for the Tigers with a 2-RBI single to right field that brought in Elle Feser and Peyton Bagley. Giving them the early lead of 2-0, DWU’s favor.
Bottom of the 3rd Inning: Dakota Wesleyan
The Tigers next attempt ended with a 4 run streak. Starting with Elle Feser who opened the series with a solo home run. Sophie Wietzema added onto the board with a single RBI. Liliana Arreola followed up with an infield RBI single and McKinnely Mull drove in another run to top it off.
Bottom of the 4th Inning: Dakota Wesleyan
The Tigers finished the game strong as Kassidy Lopez singled to center, scoring two. Jaycee Tebay brought in a run herself on a fielder’s choice. McKinnely Mull grounded out but was solid enough to drive in another run. Jaden Warner capped the inning with a 2 RBI Single. Making the final score DWU 12, Waldorf 0.

Morningside University is currently #3 in the GPAC standings with a conference record of 13-4. The Tigers will play at Dr. McWhirter Field in Mitchell. The first game against Morningside is scheduled to begin at 1:00 P.M.
