Mitchell, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan picked up their 10th conference win behind a dominant team effort on both ends of the floor in the 82-44 win over Midland. The Tigers assisted on 22 of their 33 made field goals throughout the game. Shalayne Nagel led the way on both ends of the floor with her game-high 16 points to go along with four steals and three blocks. Rylee Rosenquist, Emma Yost, and Morgan Edelman were all in double figure points as well. Dakota Wesleyan dominated inside, winning the paint battle 46-16.

Recap – DWU brought the defense in the first quarter allowing a season-low three total points to the Warriors who shot just 8.3%. The Tigers forced seven turnovers and were led defensively by Shalayne Nagel who recorded two steals and two blocks during the quarter. Dakota Wesleyan came out in their suffocating press which Midland had a very hard time even setting up their offense. On the offensive side of the court the Tigers were led by Rylee Rosenquist with seven points off the bench and Nagel with five.
In quarter two the Warriors found a little rhythm on offense but still were held to just 15 points. Nagel continued her defensive dominance with another steal and block in the quarter. DWU was dropping dimes throughout the whole first half, assisting on 14 of their 16 made shots. Morgan Edelman took over for the Tigers on the offensive end of the floor with seven points in the quarter. The Tigers stuck to their bread and butter dominating the paint (22-6), crisp passing, and suffocating defense to give them a 42-18 halftime lead.
The Tigers continued this dominant effort on both ends of the floor out of the locker room. DWU won the second half 40-26. The Tigers went to work in the paint, outscoring the Warriors 46-16. Dakota Wesleyan also was moving in transition with their 17 fast break points while Midland was held scoreless in that category. DWU forced 20 turnovers in the contest and turned those in 23 points, while they took care of the ball only turning it over 11 times which the Warriors turned into just one single point. Nagel led the way for DWU with her 16 points and seven blocks/steals in the contest. The Tigers shot exactly 50% from the floor while holding Midland to just a 31% field goal percentage.
