SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Dakota Wesleyan Women’s Golf headed just under an hour east to Elmwood Golf Course to compete in the 2026 Augustana Spring Invitational, which featured top NCAA Division II and III lineups from around the Midwest.
The event would originally be planned to be played over the course of two days, but the weather forced two 18-hole rounds to be played on the same day, back-to-back. Even with the schedule change, the Tigers were ready to go as Allison Meyerink led the team individually by tying for seventh place against some of the top competition in NCAA Division II, posting scores of 78 in both rounds to finish at a final mark of 156 (+12). The Mitchell local would only record one birdie between both rounds, but a consistent effort around par helped keep Meyerink steady down the stretch.
Sara Sudenga improved in the second round to tie for 40th place after recording a 170 (+26), while Dakotah Larson took advantage of a stellar first round at 81 (+9) to finish with a final score of 177 (+33). Tessa Bulson and Jaida Young rounded out the team’s efforts, with Bulson posting a final score of 214 and Young posting a 230 in her first career appearance with the golf team. Overall, the team placed 11th out of 12 total squads.
DWU Women’s Golf will be back in action at the DWU Spring Invitational starting on Sunday, April 12th.
