Dylan Soulek named to Class A All-State Baseball team

Mitchell shortstop Dylan Soulek was named Class A first team All-State on Tuesday.

Soulek finished the spring season with a .361 average with two home runs, 19 RBI’s, 18 runs and a .500 on-base percentage in 22 games.

The Northern State commit was a second team selection last spring and named all-state during last summer’s legion season.

The senior also had a 2.57 ERA on the mound over 19 innings, with 28 strikeouts. Soulek started Mitchell’s region semifinal on May 20 vs. Rapid City Stevens, allowing two earned runs in five innings with 10 strikeouts.

Mitchell ended the spring season with an 11-11 record, reaching last weekend’s region final at Harrisburg. Mitchell starts the legion season on Tuesday, May 30 at home vs. Harrisburg for a 5 pm doubleheader.
