Emma Yost Tabbed 3rd Team NAIA All-American

Mitchell, S.D. — Dakota Wesleyan sophomore Emma Yost continues to build an impressive basketball resume, earning NAIA Third-Team All-American honors on Monday, March 31. She was also named to the GPAC First-Team All-Conference, solidifying her status as one of the league’s top players.

A sophomore forward and nursing major from Wagner, South Dakota, Yost reached a significant milestone this season, joining Dakota Wesleyan’s prestigious 1,000-point club. She played a pivotal role in the Tigers’ success, helping them advance to the NAIA National Championship Round of 32. During the tournament in Langston, she showcased her scoring ability, averaging 23.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2 steals per game.

Throughout GPAC play, Yost averaged 15.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and shot 49.2% from the field, 31.1% from three, and 81.0% (94-116) from the free-throw line. She also recorded two double-doubles, proving to be a key presence on both ends of the floor.

Dakota Wesleyan had an outstanding season, finishing with a 25-7 overall record and a 17-4 conference record. The Tigers made a statement with major wins over No. 1 Dordt and No. 5 Briar Cliff.

Head Coach Jason Christensen praised Yost’s dedication and contributions to the program:

Teammate Shalayne Nagel, a sophomore guard, highlighted Yost’s leadership:
“Emma is a leader for our team on and off the court. She is always talking—whether in games or practice. She excels in the classroom and is involved in various campus clubs as well.”

Rylee Rosenquist, a junior guard, also emphasized Yost’s competitive nature and impact on the team:
She’s a great teammate to have. Every game and practice, she shows up ready to compete and push us to be better.
