Hanson softball took home fifth place at the inaugural Class B state tournament in Aberdeen with an 11-9 win vs. Viborg-Hurley on Saturday.
The Beaverettes (7-11) struck early taking a 3-0 lead after the first inning and then turning at 7-3 deficit going into the bottom of the fourth into a 9-7 lead at the end of that inning. Hanson added two more insurance runs in the bottom of the fifth to take an 11-8 lead.
Jalyn Kampshoff finished the day 3-for-4 with three RBI’s and two runs scored. Five other hitters would have multi hit games, including Cadence Jarding, Jersey Kampshoff, Olivia Kayser, Reese Marek and Jozlynn Tegethoff as Hanson finished with 15 hits.
Kayser threw all seven innings in the circle, allowing nine runs and 14 hits with three strikeouts and three walks on 120 pitches.
