Hanson girls basketball coach and superintendent Jim Bridge has announced his retirement at the end of the 2023-24 school year.
After Monday’s Hanson School Board meeting, Bridge’s resignation was accepted.
Bridge retired after 38 season and 636 wins. Hanson’s 74-25 victory over Bridgewater-Emery on January 26th gave Bridge 630 career wins, surpassing Dawn Seiler for the most ever in South Dakota girls basketball history.
Bridge finishes his career with 636 career wins as Hanson advances to the Class A girls state basketball tournament this past week in Brookings.
His last win came on February 29th over Florence/Henry, 49-45 in the SoDAK 16 in Madison.
