The Harrisburg Tigers used a potent offense to win its second straight Class AA girls soccer championship, 8-1 over Mitchell on Saturday in Brandon.
Jaylee Hofer scored the first two of her four goals on the day in the first 11 minutes of the match as the Tigers took a 4-0 lead into halftime.
Mitchell’s lone goal came on a penalty kick from Mia Mullenmeister with 26:23 left in the second half. Harrisburg would add three more goals, including another one from Hofer, for the 8-1 victory.
Mitchell ends their most successful season in school history with a 16-2 record and a runner-up finish. Harrisburg ends the season 17-1 with 17 consecutive victories after a season opening loss to Mitchell.
