Harrisburg’s Maeschen Wins All-Around Title; Gropper, Prunty lead Kernels at State Individual Meet

MITCHELL, S.D. — Mitchell’s gymnastics season ended Saturday at the Class AA Individual State Competition at Mitchell High School with two athletes placing in the top three of the all-around standings.

Harrisburg’s Katelyn Maeschen won the all-around title with a score of 39.183. Mitchell’s Kyanna Gropper finished second at 38.416, and teammate Olivia Prunty placed third at 37.683.

Maeschen claimed event titles in all four disciplines: vault (9.666), bars (9.75), beam (9.9) and floor (9.866).

Gropper recorded three runner-up finishes — beam (9.8), vault (9.466) and bars (9.566) — and placed fourth on floor (9.583).

Prunty finished third on bars (9.55) and third on vault (9.383).

The meet marked the conclusion of the Kernels’ 2025-26 season.
