Mitchell Kernels girls tennis claimed two state titles on their way to a third place team finish at the Class AA State Tournament in Sioux Falls on Friday.
Megan Mastel defeated Sylvie Mortimer of Rapid City Stevens (2-6, 6-0, 10-5) to win the finals of Flight 2 Singles.
In Flight 2 Doubles, Mitchell’s Carsyn Weich and Elly Clement defeated Afton Keller and Graycee Sargent of Sioux falls Jefferson, (6-4, 6-1) to become state champions.
Mitchell maintain its third place team finish after day one, with a two day total of 372.5 points. Sioux Falls Lincoln won the team title with 432 points, while Rapid City Stevens was second with 402.5 points.
