Kernels improve to 9-0 for the first time in 21 years with win at #3 Harrisburg

Mitchell Kernels girls basketball knocked off #3 Harrisburg on Saturday, 46-44 to improve to 9-0 on the season. It is the Kernels best start in 21 years.
The Kernels rallied from an early 11-3 deficit to tie the game at 20 at halftime, Mitchell led for the majority of the second half.
A Sawyer Stoebner three in the final minutes gave the Kernels a one-point lead. Senior Allison Meyerink would hit a layup with 42 seconds left to give Mitchell the lead for good at 45-44.
Meyerink was our KORN Player of the Game with a season-high 14 points.
Harrisburg had two open looks at three in the final 15 seconds and a half-court shot in the final seconds that failed to go down.
Mitchell will be at Sioux Falls Lincoln (0-9) on Friday at 7 pm, followed by hosting Brookings (2-8) on Saturday at 3 pm at Mitchell Christian.
