Larkins earns second Peak Performer award of the season

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — A pair of double-doubles in the first week of Summit League play for Grace Larkins earned her the Summit League Peak Performer of the Week award, announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.

Larkins averaged 29 points, 12.5 rebounds, and five assists over two road games to start Summit League action. Against Denver, Larkins notched her 20th career double-double with a 29-point, 13-rebound performance in a 77-71 win over the Pioneers. Larkins added seven assists in the win.

Saturday, against Oral Roberts, Larkins added another 29 points, this time with 12 rebounds for her 21st double-double of her career. She also had three assists in the 82-70 loss at Oral Roberts. Saturday’s 29 points pushed Larkins over 1,700 points in her Coyote career. Larkins is the fourth player in USD history to eclipse 1,700 points and 700 rebounds in a USD uniform.

Through the first week of conference play, Larkins is the only player in the Summit League over 50 points and 25 rebounds. She is one of two Summit League players to have 10 or more assists in the first week. Overall this season, Larkins leads the Summit League in points (22.9), rebounds (9.0), and assists per game (5.5).

Larkins’ performance this season holds up against the nation as well. She ranks sixth in points, 22nd in rebounds, and 27th in assists per game. This is her fourth Summit League Peak Performer of the Week award.

Larkins and the Coyotes are at home Thursday and Saturday. South Dakota hosts St. Thomas Thursday at 7 p.m. and Omaha Saturday at 2 p.m.
