MITCHELL KERNELS
– Mitchell spring baseball (3-1 on the season) will play a doubleheader at Yankton today starting at 5:30 pm.

– The Corn Palace Relays were postponed on Saturday and has been rescheduled for 4 pm this afternoon at Joe Quintal Field. Teams include Faulkton Area, Huron, Kimball/White Lake, Mount Vernon/Plankinton and Yankton.

– Mitchell Kernel softball (1-1 on the season) will host Harrisburg on Monday at 4 pm before hosting SF Lincoln on Tuesday at 4 pm.

– Mitchell (2-2) boys tennis were swept at home on Friday 9-0 vs. SF Lincoln. The Kernels are back on the courts today at home when they host Lennox and SF Christian.

– Mitchell girls’ golf will play in a triangular in Huron on Tuesday.

DAKOTA WESLEYAN
– DWU  baseball’s (4-26, 1-17 GPAC) losing streak reached 10 game on Sunday as the lost both ends of a doubleheader at Morningside 13-5 and 17-4.  The Tigers are scheduled to host Northwestern today for a doubleheader starting at 4 pm.

– DWU  softball (7-26, 2-12 GPAC) split a home doubleheader vs. Concordia yesterday winning game one 11-3 in six innings, before losing the second game 13-3 in five innings. Tiger softball will host Jamestown on Tuesday for a 3 pm doubleheader.

SOUTH DAKOTA STATE
– SDSU baseball (13-17, 7-5 Summit) swept a three game home series vs. Omaha this weekend, winning on Friday 8-4 and both games on Sunday, 9-3 and 12-9. The Jacks have won six in a row and will host Northwestern on Tuesday at 3 pm.

– SDSU softball (25-15, 7-0 Summit) shutout North Dakota State yesterday, 4-0, behind a three-hit shutout from Tori Kniesche. Kniesche had 9 strikeouts along with 7 walks. The teams will wrap up the three-game series today with a doubleheader starting at 11 am in Brookings.

SOUTH DAKOTA
– USD softball won two of three at home over the weekend vs. Western Illinois, including a 3-0 no-hit victory on Saturday. Coyote pitcher Clara Edwards did not allow a hit or walk, while striking out two. Edwards is the first Coyote to throw a no-hitter against a Division I opponent and the first of any kind since 2009. USD is back in action this weekend at Omaha for a three-game series that starts on Saturday at Noon.

– USD women’s basketball has accepted an invitation to play in the 2023 Battle 4 Atlantis tournament held Nov. 18-20 in the Bahamas. A 12-game, three-day tournament field will be announced at a later date. The Coyotes return 11 players from last season’s roster led by all-Summit first-team selection Grace Larkins.
