Local Sports for Tuesday January 7th

The Q107-3 Basketball Games of the Week will take place tonight and Thursday night this week on 107.3 FM and on-line at q107radio.com.  Tonight, Sanborn Central/Woonsocket will be at Bridgewater/Emery with coverage starting at 6:10pm and tip-off slated for 6:30pm.  Thursday Q107-3 will broadcast another boys game between Corsica/Stickney and Platte/Geddes in Platte.  Tune into 107.3 FM or on-line at q107radio.com tonight and Thursday night for area boys’ basketball.

 

The No. 7 Dakota Wesleyan University men’s basketball team, 14-3 overall and 6-2 in the GPAC, stays on the road to battle No. 19 Northwestern College for a conference showdown at 8:00pm Wednesday in Orange City, Iowa.  Northwestern is 14-4 overall and 6-2 in the league.  After Wednesday the Tiger men will host Dordt College at the Palace on Wednesday January 15th.

 

The No. 14 Dakota Wesleyan University women’s basketball team, 12-4 overall and 5-4 in the GPAC, travel to Orange City, Iowa to take on No.12 Northwestern College, 11-3 overall and 6-3 in the league Wednesday tip-off slated for 6:00pm.  After Wednesday the Tiger women will be off until January 15th when they host #6 ranked Dordt.

 

The Mitchell Kernel wrestling team wrestles Harrisburg and Yankton tonight in Harrisburg in a tri angular.

 

The Mitchell Kernel girls’ basketball team, 2-3 overall, will travel to play at #3 Harrisburg, 6-0 overall, Thursday and host Huron Saturday at 5:30pm.

 

The Kernel boys’ basketball team, 0-5 overall, will be off until Saturday when they host #3 Huron, 4-1 overall, in a doubleheader with the girls at the Palace.  Girls game at 5:30pm with the boys to follow around 7:00pm.  KORN News Radio is Your Original Home of Kernel Sports and will broadcast both games from the Palace Saturday night on FM 101.3, AM 1490 and on-line at kornradio.com.

 

The South Dakota State women’s basketball team, 11-6 overall on the season and 3-0 in Summit League, travels to take on Denver on Thursday. Tipoff is set for 8:00pm Central Time.  KORN News Radio will not have coverage of SDSU WBB due to Kernel girls’ basketball coverage.

 

The South Dakota State men’s basketball team, 11-7 overall and 2-1 in the Summit League, heads for Denver, Colorado Wednesday to face the Denver Pioneers. Tip is set for 8:00pm Central Time.  Jackrabbit Pre-game will be set for 7:30pm Wednesday night on KORN News Radio right after the WNCC Show from the Depot.

This week on the WNCC Show from the Freight Room of the Depot will be Special Guests Jesse Tolsma of Mitchell Christian boys’ basketball and Chris and Bill Nebelsick of Mitchell Christian girls’ basketball.  Plus, on the show this week will be Todd Neuendorf, Cole Knippling and Andy Everson.  The WNCC Show starts at 6:30pm from the Depot and can also be heard on kornradio.com Wednesday night from the Depot.

The top ranked Mitchell Kernel gymnastics team resumes competition Saturday with the Brookings Invite that starts at Noon.
