Yankton native Matthew Mors has announced his commitment to South Dakota State men’s basketball after spending a redshirt year at the University of Wisconsin.
Mors was a three-time Gatorade Boys Basketball Player of the Year in South Dakota. He was a five-time All-State selection and a three-time Argus Leader Player of the Year. He was also a four-star recruit from ESPN, the #1 ranked 2021 prospect in South Dakota and the #26 power forward in the nation.
The 6-foot-7, forward led Yankton to a 20-4 record as a senior and the Class AA semifinals during the 2020-21 season.
Mors first joined the Yankton High School varsity team as a seventh grader and promptly helped the Bucks to the 2016 state championship.
As a freshman, he averaged a career high 24.4 points per game.
South Dakota State is coming off a 30-5 season and an NCAA Tournament appearance after going 21-0 in Summit League play.
