Mitchell boys golf shaved 12 shots off their first round score to finish eighth out of 17 teams in the season opening Warrior/Lynx Invite with a +74 (638).
After shooting a 325 on Monday in Brandon, the Kernels shot 313 as a team on Tuesday at Willow Run Golf Course in Sioux Falls.
Asher Dannenbring led Mitchell on day two with a +3 (75), placing 28th overall at +16 (157).
Everett Morrison was the top finishing Kernel in 19th place. Morrison shot 79 on Tuesday after shooting a 73 on Monday. He finished at +11 (152).
Charlie Swift of Harrisburg won the two day event with a -1 (140), two shots better than Carter Peterson of Brandon Valley.
Mitchell travels to Pierre to compete at Hillsview Golf Club next Tuesday, August 27th at 10 am.
