Mitchell boys golf took home a fifth place at the Bill Scholten Invitational on Monday at the Brookings Country Club.
The Kernels shot +19 as a team with Asher Dannenbring and Carter McCormick both finishing at +4 (76) to place 17th individually.
Dannenbring had four birdies on the back 9 (10th, 14th, 15th and 16th) to shoot a 2-under 34.
Marshall Widstrom shot +5 for Mitchell and Everett Morrison finished at +6.
Harrisburg ran away with the team title with a 6-under, 10 shots better than second place Pierre.
Individually, Sawyer Sonnenschein of Pierre and Gavin Weir of Harrisburg both led the field shooting 4-under.
The Kernels will host the Mitchell Invitational on Friday at 10:30 am at Lakeview Golf Course.
