Mitchell Boys Golf Wrap Up Day One at State in Watertown

Mitchell Kernels boys golf finished in the middle of the pack, ninth out of 18 teams, after day one of the Class AA State Tournament at Cattail Crossing Golf Course in Watertown.

The Kernels shot +27 on the day, led by a +4 (76) by Asher Dannenbring. The sophomore sits in a tie for 26th place individually.

Marshall Widstrom had a pair of birdies on the day to finished with a +6 (78). Carter McCormick (+7, 79) and Sam Titze (+10, 82) rounded out the top four for the Kernels.

Mitchell is four shots back of SF Lincoln and SF Jefferson who finished tied for seventh.

Ty Lenards of Watertown led the field with a -6 (66), finishing with a bogey free, six birdie round. Lenards has a three shot lead over Charlie Swift of Harrisburg, Nicklaus Bothun of Pierre and Derek Anderson of Tea Area.

The second and final day of state is on Tuesday starting at 9 am.
