Mitchell baseball ends the regular season with a 10-10 record after winning its regular season finale at O’Gorman on Tuesday night 4-3.
All four Mitchell runs came in the top of the third inning. Dylan Soulek got the scoring started with a RBI single to center that scored Carter Miller from third. Karter Sibson would tie the game at two on a fielder’s choice to first. Hudson Haley would give Mitchell the lead on a sacrifice fly to right that scored Soulek, while Mason Herman would drive in the fourth run of the inning on a single to right.
O’Gorman would get within one with a run scoring double in the fifth, before Tyler Sanderson and Peyton Mandel threw scoreless innings in the sixth and seventh.
Parker Mandel picked up the win, allowing three runs over five innings while striking out four.
Mitchell now awaits their opponent in Saturday’s region tournament with location and times to be announced.
