Mitchell Freshman Asher Dannenbring won his first varsity individual title with a win at the Watertown Invite on Tuesday after a round of -1 (71).
Dannenbring won a three-way tie with Nick Bothun and Sawyer Sonneschein of Pierre after winning a scorecard playoff.
The freshman had birdies on the 13th, 16th and 18th holes, alone with a par of bogeys on the 7th and 17th holes.
As a team, Mitchell finished fifth with a +30 (318) in the 13 team event.
Watertown won with a +4 (292), three shots better than Pierre.
Mitchell gets ready for the ESD Meet on Monday at Fox Run Golf Course in Yankton, starting at 10 am.
