Mitchell Marlins girls hockey advanced to the semifinals of the state tournament with a 5-2 win over the Rushmore Thunder on Friday morning in Watertown.
Brynlee Sabers had a hat trick in the first period with three goals in the first 20 minutes to give Mitchell a 3-1 lead.
Reese Amick scored a power play goal in the second period to increase the Marlins lead to 4-1, followed by another Amick goal in the third to give Mitchell a 5-2 advantage.
No. 3 Mitchell will face Aberdeen at 4:30 pm on Saturday with a chance to advance to Sunday’s state championship game at 3 pm.
