Mitchell Post 18 wrapped up four days at the Veterans Classic in Rapid City on Sunday with a 5-1 win over RC Post 22 Expos U17 to improve to 6-1 on the season.
Post 18 pitching has given up just three runs over its past four games with Landon Waddell allowing one run over 5 2/3 innings on Sunday to pick up the win. Waddell also had seven strikeouts, while allowing only two hits.
Karter Sibson had two of Mitchell’s five hits, going 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI. Hudson Haley reached base three times going 1-for-2 with two walks and scoring two runs.
Leading 2-1 in the top of the top of the 6th inning, Mitchell would score two without a hit, as the Expos walked five batters, including one with the bases loaded, along with a passed ball.
Mitchell returns home on Tuesday when they host Huron for a 5 pm doubleheader. KORN News Radio will have coverage of game one with the pregame show at 4:45 pm.
