Mitchell Takes Home Fifth at State Boys Golf

Mitchell Kernels boys golf was three shots better on the final day of the Class AA Boys State Golf Tournament in Brandon to take home fifth place.

The Kernels shot 307 (+23) on day two for a two day total of 617 (+49), to finish 15 shots behind fourth place Harrisburg.

Watertown won the team title with a two-day total of 578 (+10), five shots clear of second place O’Gorman.

Mitchell Freshman Asher Dannenbring finished in a three-way tie for fifth with a second round total of 75 (+5) and a two-day total of 147 (+5).

Kernels Senior Noah Larson shot a 74 (+4) on Tuesday to finish in a tie for 14th.

Jager Juracek, Carter McCormick and Marshall Widstrom all finished in a tie for 37th with a two day score of 161 (+19).

Watertown’s Jake Olson ran away with the individual title, carding a 135 (-7) over two rounds, including a 66 on Tuesday (-5).
