Mitchell gymnastics coach Audra Rew and five others have been named as the South Dakota High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame Class of 2023.
Rew led the Kernels to their eighth Class AA state gymnastics title this past February finishing with 148.55 points. During the individual competition on day two, Mitchell’s team score of 150.918 set a new school record that was set in 2008.
Mitchell has also won state championships in 2007, 2008, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2021 with Rew as head coach.
Rew also owns Mega Gymnastics in Mitchell and is the state chair for USA Gymnastics in South Dakota, which governs the club programs outside of high school.
This year’s class will be inducted at an awards luncheon held at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel Event Center in North Sioux City on Sunday, June 18, 2023, at 1 pm.
