Mitchell’s Maddie Childs won the Sanford Series event at the Brookings Country Club on Thursday with a +3 (75).
Childs birdied holes three, four and five, while finishing the front nine at even par.
Allison Meyerink of Mitchell finished in a three-way tie for second with a +5 (75), alongside Olivia Braun of Aberdeen and Huron’s Bryn Huber. Meyerink had two birdies on the day and also finished the front nine at even par.
Quinn Dannenbring of Mitchell placed 13th with a +12 (84).
On the boys side, Asher Dannenbring of Mitchell shot a +1 (73) to finish in a tie for sixth. Dannenbring had four birdies during his round and was -3 through 11 holes.
Mitchell Noah Larson tied for 15th with a +4 (76). The Sanford Series continues next week in Rapid City at Hart Ranch and Meadowbrook golf course on July 10 and 11.
