
MITCHELL — The Eastern South Dakota Athletic Conference released its 2026 Girls Basketball All-Conference Team, with two players from Mitchell earning recognition.
Senior Addie Siemsen was named to the All-ESD team for the third time in her career, while eighth grader CeCe Morgan earned her first selection and was the youngest player honored on the list.
Siemsen continues to climb the program record books. She currently sits fifth in Mitchell girls basketball history with 1,252 career points. The senior is averaging 18.4 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.9 steals per game this season.
Morgan has made an immediate impact in her first varsity campaign, averaging 11 points and 7.9 rebounds per game while shooting 34% from three-point range.
Other players named to the 2026 All-ESD team include Lauryn Burckhard and Taryn Hermansen of Aberdeen Central; Alyvia Padgett and Gracie Salter of Brandon Valley; Logan Durnil of Harrisburg; Hylton Heinz of Huron; Jayna VanLaecken of Tea Area; and Eden Wolfgram of Yankton.
Honorable mention selections went to Ava Kellenberger of Brandon Valley and Emery Larson of Pierre.
Meanwhile, postseason play is set to begin for the seventh-seeded Kernels. Mitchell will host No. 10 Spearfish High School at 6 p.m. Friday in the Class AA SoDAK 16. Both teams finished the regular season at 12-8, with Spearfish earning a 61-55 win in their Feb. 7 meeting.

The winner advances to the state tournament in Rapid City, set for March 12-14. Mitchell would face the winner of No. 2 O’Gorman vs. No. 15 Rapid City Central on Thursday, March 12, at 6 p.m. CST.
