Braydon Kreofsky got the win for Dimock-Emery, allowing fiver earned runs and nine hits over seven innings. Sam Pischke had three RBI’s for the Raptors, while Colton Plagmann had three hits and two RBI’s and Drew Kitchens added a pair of hits and two RBI’s

Redfield 12, Parkston Mudcats 3 (7 innings) –
Kash Neugebauer had two RBI’s for Parkston, while Brayden Jervik and Luke Bormann each had two hits apiece.

Redfield 8, Parkston Rays 2 – Peyton Osborn of Redfield drove in four runs.

AMATEUR BASEBALL – SUNDAY
Dimock/Emery 6, Corsica 4 – Cole Knippling with a HR, double and four RBI’s.

Winner/Colome 11, Alexandria 1 (7 innings) –
Chandler Bakley went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI’s, while Dillon Lambley also had three hits. Derek Graesser threw six innings, allowing one run, six hits and six walks over six innings.

Mount Vernon 13, Mitchell Aces 2 (7 innings) –
Bradley Dean had a HR, double and four RBI’s

Kimball/White Lake 11, Winner 1 (7 innings) –
Caleb Crist with 12 strikeouts in six innings, allowing one run and four hits. Dylanger Pierson with a solo home run.

Plankinton 9, Chamberlain 3 –
Drew Gerlach with nine strikeouts over seven innings. Hunter Pranger went 3-for-4.

LEGION BASEBALL – SATURDAY
Winner/Colome 11, Parkston 9 – James Deckert had three hits on the night for Parkston, while Taite Klumb added a HR. Carter Sommer and Jaxx Kurtenbach each had two RBI’s.

MITCHELL KERNELS
— Mitchell Black 14-and-under baseball swept Winner on Saturday in a doubleheader 13-0 and 14-2, both in four innings. Mitchell improved to 12-9 on the season and hosts Pierre for a doubleheader at Drake Field this afternoon at 4 pm.

— Mitchell White 13-and-under baseball went 1-2 over the weekend at the Sioux Falls Invitational. Mitchell lost to Watertown 8-6 on Friday, before defeating St. Paul Highland Park (Minn.) on Saturday 11-1 in five innings. Mitchell ended the weekend with a 10-7 loss vs. Marshall (Minn.). Mitchell White is 7-13 on the season. They host Harrisburg on Tuesday for a 4 pm doubleheader at Drake Field.

— Mitchell 18-and-under baseball (3-4 on the season) heads to its next tournament July 4-6, in Jamestown, North Dakota.

MINNESOTA TWINS
— Tarik Skubal struck out 13 hitters in seven innings as the Detroit Tigers beat the Minnesota Twins 3-0. Skubal only allowed one hit, a single by Ty France in the fifth inning, as he improved to 10-0 with a 1.74 ERA in his last 15 starts. Skubal had eight strikeouts in the first nine innings. The Twins have today off before starting a three-game series at Miami on Tuesday.

MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES
— Julius Randle and the Minnesota Timberwolves have agreed to a three-year deal worth $100 million with a player option for the 2027-28 season. Randle averaged 18.7 points and 7.1 rebounds per game this past season, his first with the Timberwolves, and helped the team make the Western Conference finals. Randle was the primary pieces in the trade last fall that sent Karl-Anthony Towns from Minnesota to New York.

— Minnesota Timberwolves center Naz Reid intends to sign a new five-year, $125 million contract to stay with the franchise. The deal includes a player option for the 2029-30 season. Reid averaged a career-high 14.2 points and 6 rebounds in 27 minutes per game. Reid was named the NBA Sixth Man of the Year during the 2023-24 season.

HOCKEY
— Pierre native Carter Sanderson became the first South Dakotan ever selected in the NHL Draft. The 17-year-old forward was picked by the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday in the sixth round, 169th overall. Sanderson is committed to play college hockey at the University of North Dakota.

NBA
— NBA free agent Malik Beasley is under investigation by the U.S. District Attorney’s office regarding gambling allegations tied to league games. The investigation into Beasley comes 14 months after the NBA banned Toronto’s Jontay Porter, who was linked to a prop bet investigation and eventually pleaded guilty to committing wire fraud. Beasley signed last year with the Pistons last season, taking a one-year contract for $6 million. He averaged 16 points last season and has averaged 11.7 points over his career with Denver, Minnesota, Utah, the Lakers, Milwaukee and Detroit.

— LeBron James is exercising his $52.6 million option with the Los Angeles Lakers for 2025-26, confirming that he will become the first player in NBA history to play a 23rd season. It now pushes his career on-court earnings to about $580 million. LeBron turns 41 in December. He’s been an All-NBA pick in 21 of his 22 seasons in the league, including a second-round pick this past season. No other player has more than 15 All-NBA selections. He averaged 24 points, 7.8 rebounds and 8 assists this past season. James has appeared in 1,562 regular-season games, 49 behind Robert Parish’s league record.

— James Harden is declining his $36 million player option and intends to sign a new two-year, $81 million contract to return to the LA Clippers. The second year of Harden’s deal has a player option and is partially guaranteed. An 11-time All-Star, the 35-year-old Harden earned All-NBA honors for the first time since 2019-20 after averaging 22 points and 8.7 assists per game.

MLB
— Dave Parker, the hard-hitting outfielder who was set to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame next month, has died. He was 74. The Pittsburgh Pirates announced Parker’s death on Saturday. Nicknamed “the Cobra,” the 6-foot-5 Parker played 19 major league seasons, 11 for the Pirates. He was the NL MVP in 1978, won a World Series with Pittsburgh a year later and then won another championship in 1989 with the Oakland Athletics. Parker won back-to-back batting titles in 1977 and ’78. He finished his career as a .290 hitter with 339 homers and 1,493 RBIs.

HORSE RACING
— D. Wayne Lukas, the Hall of Famer who became one of the most accomplished trainers in the history of horse racing and a face of the sport for decades, has died. He was 89. His family said Sunday that Lukas died Saturday night at his Louisville, Kentucky, home. Lukas had been hospitalized with a severe MRSA blood infection that caused significant damage to his heart and digestive system and worsened pre-existing chronic conditions. Lukas won 15 Triple Crown races, including the Kentucky Derby four times. Only Bob Baffert has more Triple Crown victories, and Lukas owns a record-tying 20 in the Breeders’ Cup World Championships.

WNBA
— Caitlin Clark and Napheesa Collier will captain the WNBA All-Star Game next month the league announced Sunday. Clark received just under 1.3 million votes from fans while Collier had about 100,000 fewer. Clark is averaging 18 points and 8.9 assists per game. She also led the fan voting last season, her rookie year, but the All-Star format was the U.S. Olympic team playing against a select group of WNBA stars so no captains were chosen. Collier leads the league in scoring at a career-best 24.5 points and is fourth in rebounding at 8.4 a game. The Fever and Lynx will play each other on Tuesday in the Commissioner’s Cup final.

NASCAR
— Chase Elliott passed Brad Keselowski on the final lap and won a crash-filled NASCAR Cup Series race at Atlanta on Saturday night for his 20th career victory. Elliott earned a spot in the NASCAR playoffs with his first victory since April 2024 at Texas. It was his first win in Atlanta since 2022. The race’s second crash early in Stage 2 took out many of the top contenders. Pole-winner Joey Logano, who led the first 36 laps before light rain forced the first caution, was among the many drivers caught up in the big crash. Brade Keselowski was second, followed by Elliott’s Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet teammate, Alex Bowman, in third.

MLB
— Kiké Hernández hit a two-run homer and Will Smith also went deep as the Dodgers beat the Kansas City Royals 5-1.

— Orlando Arcia hit a tying home run with two outs in the ninth inning, while Kyle Farmer drove in the go-ahead run with a single in the 11th as the Colorado Rockies beat the Milwaukee Brewers 4-3.

— The Pirates Oneil Cruz hit a pair of two-run homers, while Tommy Pham and Bryan Reynolds also went deep as Pittsburgh beat the New York Mets 12-1 to complete a three-game sweep. The Mets were outscored 30-4 over the weekend, the most lopsided three-game sweep in team history.

— Aaron Judge homered twice to reach 30 for the sixth time in his career, while Jazz Chisholm Jr. drove in four runs as the Yankees defeated the Athletics 12-5.

— Ranger Suárez threw seven innings as the Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Atlanta Braves 2-1. Suárez gave up just one run on four hits. He struck out eight and lowered his ERA to 2.00.

— Jose Altuve hit a two-run homer and Framber Valdez threw six shutout innings as the Houston Astros beat the Chicago Cubs 2-0.

— Mitch Garver hit a two-run homer in the 12th and drove in four runs as the Seattle Mariners beat the Texas Rangers 6-4 to win a series in which all three games went to extra innings.

— Nolan Gorman hit a three-run homer and Victor Scott II had a two-run shot as the St. Louis Cardinals shutout Cleveland 7-0.

— Cincinnati’s Will Benson hit a bases-loaded single off San Diego closer Robert Suarez in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Reds a 3-2 win over the Padres.

— Washington’s CJ Abrams’ two-run triple capped a three-run 11th inning, while James Wood became the sixth player in MLB history to be intentionally walked four times as the Nationals beat the Angels 7-4.

— Miami’s Otto Lopez hit a go-ahead, two-run single, while Kyle Stowers added a three-run double during an eighth-inning rally as the Marlins completed a three-game sweep by beating the Arizona Diamondbacks 6-4. The Marlins have won seven in a row.

— Kyle Teel hit a go-ahead, two-run double with the bases loaded in the seventh as the Chicago White Sox beat the San Francisco Giants 5-2.

— Toronto’s Addison Barger and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. homered on consecutive pitches from Walker Buehler in the first inning as the Blue Jays defeated the Boston Red Sox 5-3.

— Dean Kremer allowed three singles in seven scoreless innings as the Baltimore Orioles beat the Tampa Bay Rays 5-1. Kremer has surrendered just two runs in his last three starts over 17 2/3 innings.
