SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The #6 ranked Morningside football team displayed balanced offense as they defeated Dakota Wesleyan 56-3 in Sioux City Saturday.
The Mustangs set the tone early as they scored two touchdowns in the first five minutes of the game. Morningside running back Max Hough had 4 rushing touchdowns in the first half to lead the Mustangs to a 35-0 halftime advantage.
Dakota Wesleyan’s offense had two turnovers and finished with 297 yards for the game, with their only score on the day coming on a 39-yard Jaxson Patrick field goal in the third quarter.
Zack Chevalier threw for 365 yards and 3 TDs for the Mustangs, while Hough rushed for 168 yards and 4 touchdowns. Carter Robinson threw for 169 yards for the Tigers, while Koby Kayser rushed for 103 yards.
