Mitchell’s Everett Morrison took home 7th place on Thursday as Kernels boys golf competed at the Huron Invite at Broadland Creek Golf Course.
The Kernels placed 7th as a team in the 13-team event with a +23 (311), two shots behind Brandon Valley for sixth.
Morrison led Mitchell with a +2 (74), including four birdies on the front nine, to finish in a five way tie for 7th.
Teammate Asher Dannenbring finished in a six way tie for 20th with a +5 (77).
Sawyer Sonnenschein of Pierre (-4, 68) defeated Charlie Swift of Harrisburg (-3, 69) by one shot for the individual title.
Watertown would win the team title with a +6 (294), one shot better than Pierre and two shots better than third place Harrisburg.
The Kernels will face Yankton on Tuesday in the annual Marchand Cup at Fox Run Golf Course starting at 2 pm.
