Next Stop Nationals: Meyerink’s GPAC Triumph Propels Her Forward

Mitchell, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan freshman golfer Allison Meyerink has secured her spot in the 2025 NAIA Women’s Golf National Championship following an impressive first-place finish at the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Championship this week.

Competing at Centura Hills Golf Club in Cairo, Nebraska, Meyerink delivered a poised and consistent performance across three rounds, finishing with a score of 229 (+13) to claim the individual title. She opened with an even-par 72 and wrapped up the tournament with a final round 74, holding off the field by four strokes.

Her conference title win grants her an automatic berth to the NAIA National Championship, which will be held May 13–16 at Eagle Crest Golf Club in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Meyerink will compete as one of six individual qualifiers among a field of 156 golfers made up of 30 teams and select individuals.

A standout in her debut collegiate season, the Mitchell native has tallied multiple wins and top finishes throughout the year, with a scoring average just under 80. Her GPAC win marks the first individual conference title for the DWU women’s program since 2016.

The national championship will consist of 72 holes of stroke play, with a cut after 36 holes. The top 15 teams and the highest-placing individuals not on advancing teams will move on to the final rounds.
