SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The 2025 Summit League Softball Championship bracket is officially set with Omaha earning the No. 1 seed after clinching a share of the regular season title for the first time in program history.
St. Thomas also claimed a share of the regular season crown with a 9-0 win over North Dakota State on Saturday, marking its first in the Division I era. However, the Tommies remain ineligible for postseason play as they continue their transition to the Division I level.
The six-team, four-day championship will take place May 7–10 at Jerald T. Moriarty Field in Brookings, S.D. The championship opens Wednesday with two single-elimination games before shifting to double elimination for the remainder of the schedule. The champion will earn the league’s automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.
Omaha (36-10, 14-4 SL) leads the field as the top seed and will open play Thursday at 11 a.m. CT against the winner of Game 1 between No. 4 seed North Dakota (25-28, 7-11 SL) and No. 5 seed North Dakota State (19-30, 6-12 SL). That UND/NDSU opening-round contest is slated for 1 p.m. CT on Wednesday.
South Dakota State (28-24, 13-5 SL) enters the championship as the No. 2 seed and will play Thursday at 1:30 p.m. CT against the winner of Game 2 between No. 3 seed South Dakota (28-22, 8-10 SL) and No. 6 seed Kansas City (5-42, 1-17 SL). First pitch for the USD/KC single-elimination matchup is set for 3:30 p.m. CT on Wednesday.
