Parkston/Ethan/Hanson/Mt. Vernon Claim Second at Class A State Gymnastics Meet

MITCHELL, S.D. — The Royals of Parkston/Ethan/Hanson/Mt. Vernon delivered a strong showing at the 2026 Class A State Gymnastics Meet, finishing second for the second straight season in the team competition with a score of 137.8 at Mitchell High School.

The championship went to the Estelline/Hendricks’ Redhawks, who captured their fourth consecutive state title with 140.5 points.

Parkston/Ethan/Hanson/Mt. Vernon’s success was anchored by standout performances across all four events.

On beam, Addison Duba lead the Royals with a first place score of 9.3, and a third place finish on floor at 9.5. Teammates Anna Weber, Lily Bahmuller, and Piper Reichert added consistent scores in the 8s, showing the team’s depth and balance.

On vault, Addison Duba led the Royals with a 9.2 to finish fourth, joined by Bahmuller (8.7), Reichert (8.7) and Sommer (8.7) contributing key scores.

Duba also excelled on bars, posting an 8.6 to also place fourth, while Sommer added 8.3, keeping the Royals in contention throughout the meet.

While the Redhawks’ Maggie Hausman and Riah Hartung posted high marks in every event, the Royals’ consistent performances across all athletes allowed them to finish well ahead of third-place Deuel (136.5) and Madison (136.25).

The Class A individual championship take place on Saturday, Feb. 14 at Mitchell High School.
