Recap –  The Dakota Wesleyan Men’s basketball team looked to get back into the win column and came out ready to play at Briar Cliff. Jakob Dobney scored the first two points for the Tigers and Randy Rosenquist Jr. would drill a quick three pointer to give the Tigers a 5-0 lead in the opening two minutes of play. Briar Cliff was not going to stay quiet forever and would go back and forth with DWU. The two teams traded buckets throughout the first half with the Tigers maintaining a two-possession lead for a majority of the first 20 minutes of play. The Chargers saw their first lead in the sixth minute as they hit a three pointer and were only able to stretch their lead to five points at most. Rosenquist went to work in the closing minute and scored seven of his 23 first half points to knot up the score as the two teams exited the floor for the halftime break with the score board reading 36-36.

The two squads went at it in the second half. In the second half alone, there were seven lead changes and two ties as the two teams battled to the last horn. The Chargers did everything they could, but Rosenquist still scored 16 more points in the second half as he tried to lead the Tigers to a win. The Tigers opened the second half with a five-point run but only had this lead for two minutes before Briar Cliff would tie up the score again and go on a run to grab their biggest lead of the night, six points. Rosenquist would score seven consecutive points to bring the lead within two. Dobney and Kallan Herman came in clutch down the line as Dobney found Herman for a pair of three points to tie the score up once again with less than five minutes remaining. Dobney would score a pair of layups as well to give DWU the lead at the three-minute mark. The Chargers would make their 12th three pointer of the night to grab the lead for the last time and were able to ice the game with free throws. Rosenquist did everything he could in the closing seconds to tie up the score but was unsuccessful in his efforts. The Tigers drop their third game of the season in this contest. The Tigers have lost by a combined five-points in the three losses this season.
