SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota State’s Sydni Schetnan was named the Summit League Defensive Peak Performer of the Week Tuesday by the conference office. This is the third weekly volleyball honor for Schetnan and first defensive award.
Schetnan totaled 18 kills, 13 blocks, and a .545 hitting percentage as the Jackrabbits went 2-0 during the third week of conference play.
The Sioux Falls native recorded back-to-back matches with at least six total blocks. Schetnan garnered six total blocks, five kills with a .455 hitting percentage, and was responsible for eight and a half points in a three-set victory over Omaha.
The Jackrabbit redshirt junior then registered 13 kills, seven total blocks, and a .591 hitting percentage in a four-set victory over North Dakota, which left the Jackrabbits as the lone unbeaten team in Division I volleyball with a 16-0 record.
