South Dakota State women’s basketball placed fifth in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament with a 65-55 win over #10 Louisville on Monday.
It’s the highest ranked team the Jacks have ever defeated, topping wins vs. #12 Penn State in 2013 and #12 Syracuse in the 2019 NCAA Tournament.
SDSU took control of the game with a 16-2 run to end the first half to take a 26-19 lead.
Myah Selland would have a team-high 25 points and 11 rebounds on 7-of-14 shooting.
The Jacks would limit Louisville to just 36 percent shooting (20-of-55), while also outrebounded the Cardinals 41-24.
SDSU’s only loss over the three days was in the opening round vs. UCLA. The 20th ranked Bruins defeated Marquette in the title game, 66-58 in overtime.
The Jacks (4-2) will stay on the road as they take on Washington State on Monday, November 28 at 9 pm CST.
