Three more event champions for the Coyotes on final day of Summit League Championships

FARGO, N.D. ­— South Dakota track and field totaled three event titles and 10 new USD Top 10 marks on the final day of the Summit League Championships in Fargo.

TOP PERFORMERS
• South Dakota’s first event champion of the day came in the women’s triple jump as freshman Kenya Harris’ personal best 41-6 ½ (12.66m) is an NDSU facility record and the second-best jump in school history.
• USD captured the top two spots on the podium in two events Saturday: the men’s 110-meter hurdles and the women’s pole vault.
• In the 110-meter hurdles, Jaden Damiano ran a personal best 13.63 for the title. His time ranks tied for 17th in the NCAA West Region. Mikael Grace ran 13.70 for second, which ranks tied for 21st in the West Region.
• Marleen Mülla cleared a 14-11 height to win the women’s pole vault, with Anna Willis going over 13-10 ½ to take second.
• Ethan Baessler medaled in two events, running 10.28 in the 100-meters for second and 21.04 in the 200 for third.
• Two Coyotes landed on the podium in the women’s 400-meter hurdles. Bre Dunn took second in 59.88 and Avery Winter third in 1:00.63.
• Geneva Timmerman ran the second best 5k in school history of 16:35.18 to earn the bronze medal.
• Brei Christoffer threw a javelin personal best over five meters better than her previous best, placing second with a toss of 154-7. That mark is also the third best throw in school history.
• Ellie Thomas ran 2:12.12 in the women’s 800 to place second.
• Trevor Thomsen and Levi Hill placed fourth and seventh in the 1500-meters, running times of 4:00.29 and 4:01.12 from the first heat.
