DAKOTA WESLEYAN
Tiger Volleyball K–8th Grade Camp (June 9–10) Monday and Tuesday
This two-day camp is open to athletes entering grades K–8 (Fall 2025) and focuses on volleyball fundamentals, including passing, setting, serving, and hitting.
Grades K–5: 8:30–10:00 a.m.
Grades 6–8: 10:15 a.m.–12:15 p.m.
Football Prospect Camp (June 7 & 22) Dates: Saturday, June 7. Sunday, June 22

Open to athletes in grades 9–12
This camp offers college evaluation and instruction, including a combine assessment. Includes lunch, dinner, and a camp T-shirt.
Men’s Basketball: Elite Camp (Saturday, June 14)
A high-intensity camp for high school athletes (classes of 2025–2028) seeking to compete at the next level. Includes drills, skill instruction, and evaluations by DWU coaching staff.
Girls’ Basketball: Tiger Team Camp (Monday, June 30)
A great opportunity for girls’ basketball teams to compete in multiple games in one day.
SOUTH DAKOTA STATE
– A third year of the Big Sky-Summit Challenge is on tap this December as the Big Sky Conference and Summit League announced Wednesday the series of men’s and women’s basketball matchups that will take place. The South Dakota State women hosts Weber State on Wednesday, Dec. 3, while the Jackrabbit men travel to Northern Arizona. On Saturday, Dec. 6. The SDSU’s men host Idaho, while the SDSU women head to Northern Arizona. The Summit League has won the Big Sky-Summit Challenge trophy both seasons of official competition.

— Ryan Jeffers hit a solo HR in the first inning and an RBI single in the ninth, while Harrison Bader added a two-run homer in the fifth as the Minnesota Twins extended the Athletics’ losing streak to nine games with a 6-1 win on Wednesday night. The A’s have one win in their last 21 games, matching the worst 21-game stretch in franchise history. Minnesota has won four in a row, and eight of its last nine, against the Athletics. The Twins go for a four-game sweep this afternoon at 2:35 pm.
— Minnesota Twins right-hander Pablo López is expected to be sidelined 8 to 12 weeks because of a strained shoulder. The Twins said Wednesday that López has a Grade 2 strain of a major muscle. Lopez was the winning pitcher Tuesday night in a 10-3 victory over the Athletics, allowing two runs on four hits in five innings before leaving because of the shoulder problem. The 29-year-old is 5-3 with a 2.82 ERA in 11 starts this season.
NBA
— The Phoenix Suns have hired Cleveland Cavaliers assistant Jordan Ott as their new head coach. Ott will be the team’s fourth head coach in four seasons and replaces Mike Budenholzer, who was fired following a 36-46 season that ended without a trip to the playoffs.
NHL
— NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman and NHL Players’ Association Executive Director Marty Walsh say negotiations for a new collective bargaining agreement are progressing well. Although no deal is finalized yet, both sides report “constructive” and “cordial” discussions, with plenty of time left before the current agreement expires in September 2026.
TENNIS
— Novak Djokovic has eliminated 2024 runner-up Alexander Zverev in the French Open quarterfinals 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4. Djokovic’s victory Wednesday night allowed him to reach his 51st Grand Slam semifinal and move two wins away from A record 25th major trophy. Next up is a showdown for Djokovic on Friday against No. 1 Jannik Sinner. Sinner beat No. 62 Alexander Bublik 6-1, 7-5, 6-0 earlier Wednesday. The other men’s semifinal will be Carlos Alcaraz against Lorenzo Musetti.
WOMEN’S COLLEGE WORLD SERIES
— Reese Atwood hit a go-ahead, two-run single for Texas when Texas Tech was trying to walk her intentionally in the sixth inning AS the Longhorns beat the Red Raiders 2-1 in Game 1 of the Women’s College World Series finals. Teagan Kavan pitched a three-hitter for Texas, which can secure its first national title with a win in Game 2 tonight.
GOLF
— Rory McIlroy has explained his decision not to speak to the media during last month’s PGA Championship. McIlroy said Wednesday he was annoyed that news had leaked about his driver failing to pass inspection before the tournament. McIlroy said the results of equipment tests are supposed to be confidential and noted that Scottie Scheffler’s driver had also failed before the championship, but that was not reported until afterward. McIlroy says he didn’t want to discuss his driver or say something he regretted.

— A sports bettor who heckled Olympic champion sprinter Gabby Thomas during a Grand Slam Track event in Philadelphia has been banned by the betting site FanDuel Sportsbook. In a statement Wednesday, FanDuel wrote that it “condemns in the strongest terms abusive behavior directed towards athletes.” Thomas finished fourth in a 100-meter race won by Melissa Jefferson-Wooden. The bettor wrote in a social media post that he “made Gabby lose by heckling her. And it made my parlay win.”

— Hunter Goodman tripled and doubled as the Colorado Rockies beat the Miami Marlins 3-2 to complete a sweep in their first series win of the season. It was the Rockies’ first three-game sweep since they beat San Diego in May 2024.
— Boston’s Ceddanne Rafaela curled a 308-foot home run around the Pesky Pole in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Red Sox rallied after trailing four different times to beat the Angels 11-9. L.A. blew 4-0, 7-5, 8-7 and 9-8 leads.
— Isaac Collins had a three-run homer, while Jackson Chourio and Daz Cameron each hit two-run shots as Milwaukee won their 12th consecutive series against the Cincinnati Reds with a 9-1 victory.
— The Mets Pete Alonso homered twice and drove in five runs, while Griffin Canning held baseball’s best offense scoreless for six innings as New York defeated the Dodgers 6-1.
— Colt Keith hit a tiebreaking RBI double in the eighth inning to help the Detroit Tigers beat the Chicago White Sox 5-4 on a rainy Wednesday night. The Tigers regrouped after blowing a four-run lead after a 95-minute rain delay.
— Cleveland’s Angel Martínez hit an early two-run homer and Luis Ortiz earned his first win since April 18 as the Guardians beat the Yankees 4-0.
— Washington’s MacKenzie Gore pitched seven innings of three-hit ball and Amed Rosario homered to break a scoreless tie in the seventh as the Nationals beat the Cubs 2-0.
— Pittsburgh’s Mike Burrows held Houston in check into the sixth inning to pick up the first victory of his career as the Pirates defeated the Astros 3-0. Burrows allowed five hits and struck out six in 5 1/3 innings.
— Heston Kjerstad put Baltimore ahead with a two-run triple in the seventh inning as the Orioles beat the Seattle Mariners 3-2 for their fifth straight win.
— Alejandro Kirk drove in the winning run in the ninth inning as the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Philadelphia Phillies 2-1.
— Merrill Kelly allowed one hit in seven dominant innings, outpitching Chris Sale, as Arizona held off Atlanta 2-1.
— Brandon Lowe hit a solo home run in the first inning and added an RBI double to help Tampa Bay beat Texas 5-4.
— San Francisco’s Heliot Ramos hit a tying two-run double in the seventh then Jung Hoo Lee followed with a sacrifice fly that put the Giants ahead in a 6-5 win over the San Diego Padres 6-5. San Francisco ended a stretch of 16 straight games scoring four or fewer runs.
— The game between the Kansas City Royals and St. Louis Cardinals scheduled for Wednesday night has been postponed by rain. The Cardinals said the I-70 rivals will finish their season series with a split doubleheader Thursday.
