MLB
— Cal Raleigh hit his major league-leading 59th and 60th home runs of the season as the Seattle Mariners won their fourth ever AL West title with a 9-2 victory over the Colorado Rockies. Raleigh opened the scoring in the first inning with a HR to the upper deck in right field, and capped it in the eighth with a two-out HR. With four games remaining, Raleigh has a chance to break the American League record of 62 homers set by the Yankees’ Aaron Judge in 2022.
— Shea Langeliers had four hits, including back-to-back home runs with Tyler Soderstrom, as the Athletics beat Houston 6-0, handing the Astros their fifth straight loss. The Astros, who had won the last four AL West titles and seven of the last eight, remained one game behind Detroit for the final AL wild card with four games remaining.
— Cleveland’s George Valera hit a two-run homer in the third inning, while José Ramírez had a two-run double in the seventh as the Guardians became the first major league team to overcome a deficit of 15 ½ games and take the lead in either division or league play, beating the Detroit Tigers 5-1. Cleveland has a one-game lead over Detroit with four games to play. The Guardians also have the tiebreaker by winning the season series vs. the Tigers.
— Aaron Judge tied the major league record by reaching 50 home runs for the fourth time, hitting a pair of longballs as the New York Yankees regained a share of the AL East lead for the first time since July with an 8-1 win over the Chicago White Sox. New York has won seven of eight, moving a season-high 22 games over .500.
— Garrett Crochet pitched eight shutout innings as the Boston Red Sox beat the Toronto Blue Jays 7-1. Assured a playoff berth, the Blue Jays dropped into a tie with the Yankees atop the AL East at 90-68 with four games left. Toronto holds the head-to-head tiebreaker.
— Tommy Edman singled home the tiebreaking run with two outs in the 11th inning as the L.A. Dodgers moved closer to another NL West title by beating the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-4. Los Angeles’ magic number is down to one, meaning any win by the Dodgers or any loss by second-place San Diego will clinch the division. The Dodgers are trying to win the NL West for the 12th time in 13 years.
— Matt Shaw homered and had three hits, while Michael Busch also went deep as the Chicago Cubs ended a season-high five-game losing streak with a 10-3 win over the New York Mets.

— Pittsburgh ace Paul Skenes allowed four hits and struck out seven in six innings in his final start of the season as the Pirates picked up a 4-3 win over the Cincinnati Reds in 11 innings. Skenes lowered his ERA to 1.97. He became the first qualified pitcher with an ERA under 2.00 since Justin Verlander in 2022. He’s the youngest pitcher with a sub-2.00 ERA since 20-year-old Dwight Gooden’s 1.53 ERA in 1985.
— Jackson Chourio robbed Xander Bogaerts of a three-run home run in the first inning and Nick Mears got Luis Arraez to fly out to center to end a bases-loaded threat in the seventh as the Milwaukee Brewers beat the San Diego Padres 3-1 to avoid a three-game sweep.
