The Tiger defense was all over CSM forcing 10 turnovers in the quarter alone.

The DWU offense slowed up in the remaining three quarters scoring 21 in the second and 19 in both the third and the fourth. Where the offense showed signs of struggle, the defense held strong holding the Flames to 14 or less in each quarter with a low of eight points allowed in the fourth quarter to close it out. Dakota Wesleyan never trailed in the game and dominated CSM in every stat category. The biggest standout stat was the Tigers scoring a staggering 43 points off the Flames 28 turnovers while College of Saint Mary only managed eight points off the 13 DWU turnovers. The Tigers as usual won the glass battle with their 42 rebounds compared to CSM 23. Dakota Wesleyan shot 50.7% from the floor, 47.8% beyond the arc, and 87.5% from the foul line. As a team the Tigers set a new season high with 19 steals in the game, with Emma Yost leading the way in that department with her four.
