
FOREST CITY, IOWA – Dakota Wesleyan extended its winning streak to 10 games with a doubleheader sweep of Waldorf on Wednesday, winning 6-0 and 13-7 in Forest City, Iowa.
In the opener, reigning GPAC Pitcher of the Week Alison Ernsberger dominated in the circle, tossing a complete-game shutout. She allowed just four hits and struck out 14 without allowing a run, improving to 11-6 on the season.
The Tigers broke through in the fourth inning, scoring twice on an RBI groundout by Elle Feser and an RBI single from Jaycee Tebay. Dakota Wesleyan added two more runs in both the sixth and seventh innings to pull away. Feser led the offense with three RBIs, while Tebay drove in two. Alessandra Ciurca finished 3-for-4 at the plate.
Dakota Wesleyan carried that momentum into Game 2, erupting for 13 runs on 16 hits to complete the sweep. The Tigers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning and never trailed, though Waldorf closed within two runs midway through the game.
Avery Perkins provided the biggest swing, hitting her second home run of the season and finishing 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Alessandra Ciurca added three hits and two RBIs, while Dusti Draper also drove in two runs. Kassidy Lopez contributed three hits and an RBI.
Mandalyn Nachtigall earned the win in the circle, pitching 4⅓ innings, while Keirstyn Krcil closed out the game.
Dakota Wesleyan improved to 28-11 overall and 11-1 in GPAC play. The Tigers travel to Doane for a doubleheader Saturday, with first pitch scheduled for 2 p.m.
