NFL
— Cameron Dicker kicked a game-winning 54-yard field goal, leading the Los Angeles Chargers to a 22-19 overtime win over the Philadelphia Eagles. Tony Jefferson intercepted Jalen Hurts at the 1-yard line to seal the victory. Hurts threw four interceptions, and the Eagles committed five turnovers. The defending Super Bowl champion Eagles have now lost three in a row and are 8-5. Dicker had five field goals, while Eagles kicker Jake Elliott made four field goals. The Chargers improved to 9-4.

— The Indianapolis Colts will work out retired quarterback Philip Rivers after losing starter Daniel Jones to a season-ending Achilles injury. Backup Riley Leonard is also doubtful with a knee injury, leaving the team with limited options at QB. Rivers, 44, last played for the Colts in 2020-21 and is an eight-time Pro Bowler with over 63,000 career passing yards.

— The Cleveland Browns say rookie Shedeur Sanders will remain their starting quarterback for the final four games of the season. Sanders, a fourth-round pick and son of Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, has started three games, leading the Browns to a 1-2 record in those starts. He recently had his best game, with 394 yards and four touchdowns, despite a loss vs. Tennessee.

COLLEGE BASKETBALL
— Arizona has taken the top spot in the AP Top 25 men’s college basketball poll. Purdue, previously No. 1, dropped to sixth after losing to Iowa State on Saturday. Arizona received 33 of 60 first-place votes, marking their first time at No. 1 since December 2023. Michigan moved up to No. 2, with Duke at No. 3 and Iowa State at No. 4. UConn is at No. 5.

— The Big Ten has matched the Associated Press Top 25 women’s basketball record with nine ranked teams. The conference set the mark last year and has three teams in the top 10, including No. 4 UCLA, No. 6 Michigan and No. 7 Maryland. UConn remains No. 1, while Texas is second place. The top 10 remains unchanged this week.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL
— Four finalists have been announced for the Heisman Trophy: Indiana’s Fernando Mendoza, Vanderbilt’s Diego Pavia, Notre Dame’s Jeremiyah Love, and Ohio State’s Julian Sayin. Mendoza, who led Indiana to its first Big Ten title in 58 years, is the favorite. The winner will be revealed on Saturday in New York.

— Notre Dame’s athletic director Pete Bevacqua criticized the ACC after the Fighting Irish were left out of the College Football Playoff. He accused the conference of causing “permanent damage” to their relationship by pushing Miami over Notre Dame, despite Notre Dame being a full ACC member in most sports. Bevacqua called the CFP selection process confusing and frustrating and announced Notre Dame will not accept a bowl invitation this year.

NASCAR
— An economist testified in Michael Jordan’s federal antitrust trial against NASCAR that the racing series owes a combined $364 million in damages to the two teams suing it over a revenue-sharing dispute. Edward Snyder testified as a professor of economics who worked in the antitrust division of the Department of Justice. He has testified in more than 30 cases. He gave three reasons in Monday’s testimony why NASCAR is a monopoly participating in anticompetitive business practices. Snyder used a complex formula to determine those damages for 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports from 2021-25.

MLB
— Jeff Kent was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame on Sunday by the Contemporary Era Committee, receiving 14 of 16 votes, surpassing the 75% needed for induction. Kent, a five-time All-Star second baseman, finished his 17-year career with a .290 batting average, 377 home runs, and 1,518 RBIs. His 351 home runs as a second baseman are the most ever at that position. Meanwhile, steroid-tainted stars Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens once again fell short, along with Gary Sheffield and Fernando Valenzuela. Kent will be formally inducted in Cooperstown on July 26, 2026, joining the class that will include any players elected by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America next January.

— Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts isn’t sure about restrictions for Japanese stars Shohei Ohtani, Yoshi Yamamoto and Roki Sasaki in the World Baseball Classic. Roberts says discussions about their participation are ongoing. Ohtani, a four-time MVP, might focus on hitting rather than pitching for Japan in the WBC. The Dodgers plan to have Ohtani in the starting rotation next season, with a flexible schedule to keep him rested.

NBA
— Eight NBA teams are competing for the NBA Cup and a chance to head to Las Vegas for the semifinals. Quarterfinal games are set for Tuesday and Wednesday, with Miami facing Orlando, New York against Toronto, Phoenix playing Oklahoma City, and San Antonio taking on the Lakers. If the Thunder beat the Suns, they’ll tie Golden State for the best 25-game start in NBA history with a 24-1 record. Players on quarterfinalist teams have already secured bonuses, with more money at stake as they advance. All games are available on Amazon Prime.

— Mark Williams had 22 points and seven rebounds as the Phoenix Suns overcame Anthony Edwards’ 40 points to snap the Minnesota Timberwolves’ five-game winning streak with a 108-105 victory on Monday night. Edwards shot 15 for 21 from the field, while Julius Randle had 21 points.
