Two Tigers’ Competing at NAIA National Championship

Mitchell, S.D. – Temuujin Mindbileg and Zachary Zitek of the Dakota Wesleyan Men’s Wrestling Program head to Park City, Kansas, this week to compete in the 68th Annual Men’s Wrestling National Championship.

Temuujin Mendbileg (Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, So.) 184-pounder, has consistently dominated the competition, clinching victory at the prestigious Missouri Valley Invite. Temu’s 4th place finish was the highest finish by any Tiger in program history. Mendbileg defeated the #11, #14, and #18 ranked wrestlers in the country before falling to #7 in the semifinals. In addition to his dominating performances, Temu finished his first semester at DWU with a GPA over 3.40.

Zachary Zitek (Dwight, Neb., Sr.), 141-pounder, has also had an incredible season, with a string of impressive wins. Zitek finished in 4th place at the GPAC Tournament, earning him a spot in his second National Tournament. Zitek has been ranked as high as 11th and has maintained a Top 20 ranking for the last two years. As a team captain, Zach has also maintains a 4.0 GPA throughout his undergrad and master’s program.

Head Coach Martin Mueller, who expressed immense pride in their accomplishments. “They’ve both shown incredible dedication and resilience throughout the season. I’m confident they’ll continue to shine at nationals,” said Coach Mueller.

The 68th Annual National Wrestling Championship will take place in Park City, Kan. from March 6-8th.
