SIOUX FALLS, S.D.— Junior guard Grace Larkins has been named the TicketSmarter Summit League Peak Performer of the Week as announced by the league Monday. She captures the honor for the first time this season and the second time of her career.
Larkins averaged 26.5 points, eight rebounds, 4.5 assists and three steals for the week in leading the Coyotes to a pair of nonconference wins over Northern Iowa and LMU. She shot 64.3 percent (18-of-28) from the field on the week. Her 53 points were the ninth-most in the nation last week.
The native of Altoona, Iowa, recorded her first double-double of the season against UNI with 28 points and 11 rebounds. She also handed out six assists in the Coyotes’ 84-65 victory. She followed that up with a 25-point, five rebound and five steal performance in the USD’s 78-73 road win at LMU on Sunday.
Larkins leads the Summit League in total points, rebounds and assists this season.
South Dakota returns to Vermillion for a game against Dickinson State at 1 p.m. Sunday inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center.
