NFL
— The Las Vegas Raiders received a conditional third-round draft pick in sending WR Davante Adams to the New York Jets to reunite with his former Packers QB Aaron Rodgers. in the trade. That pick could improve to a second-round selection if Adams is a first- or second-team All-Pro this season or is on the Jets’ active roster for the AFC Championship Game or Super Bowl. Adams, who turns 32 on Dec. 24, is a six-time Pro Bowl selection who achieved his greatest success with Rodgers as his quarterback with Green Bay from 2014 to 2021.

— The Buffalo Bills acquired Amari Cooper in a trade Tuesday with the Cleveland Browns, adding a No. 1 wide receiver for star quarterback Josh Allen. The Bills received Cooper and a sixth-round draft pick for a third-round pick and a seventh-round selection. The 30-year-old Cooper fills the No. 1 receiver void for the Bills that was opened when Buffalo traded Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans before the season.

— The Minnesota Vikings have acquired running back Cam Akers for the second time in 12 months, this time from the Houston Texans in an exchange of 2026 conditional draft pick. Akers started two games this season for the Texans, including one against the Vikings in Week 3. He has rushed for 147 yards and one touchdown on 40 carries this season.

— The Super Bowl will return to Atlanta in 2028 at the home of the Falcons, after a vote of approval by NFL team owners Tuesday at the league’s annual fall meeting. This will be the fourth time the Super Bowl will be played in Atlanta and the second at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which was the site when the New England Patriots beat the L.A. Rams in 2019. New Orleans will host the Super Bowl this season. It then goes to California for two years, with the San Francisco Bay Area hosting in 2026 and Los Angeles in 2027.

— NFL team owners on Tuesday voted to approve Tom Brady’s purchase of a minority stake in the Las Vegas Raiders. Raiders owner Mark Davis declined to provide details on Brady’s role with the Raiders, out of respect for Brady’s job as a broadcaster for Fox. Davis said one of the sticking points in the 17-month process was Brady’s dual role as broadcaster and potential team owner.

— Detroit Lions defensive tackle Alim McNeill has agreed to a four-year contract extension worth $97 million, including $55 million guaranteed. McNeill is the third member of Detroit’s 2021 draft class to sign an extension, joining All-Pro wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and offensive tackle Penei Sewell.

— NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said the league is still reviewing the latest claims of sexual assault and battery against Deshaun Watson. The Cleveland Browns quarterback resolved the civil lawsuit filed against him by the woman but that doesn’t preclude him from being disciplined by the league. Watson was suspended for the first 11 games in 2022 for violating the league’s personal conduct policy after more than two dozen women accused him of sexual assault and inappropriate conduct during massage therapy sessions.
