Cairo, Neb. – The Dakota Wesleyan University (DWU) women’s golf team delivered a strong performance at the 2025 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Championships, finishing second overall. The Tigers posted a team total of 985 (+94) over the 54-hole tournament.
- Allison Meyerink (Fr.) led the conference in individual play, finishing in 1st overall. She earned a berth to NAIA Nationals with a total of 229 (+13). The freshman contributed 9.92 points for DWU’s team score.
- Sara Sudenga (So.) began climbing the leaderboard on day one, finishing with a 10-spot jump into a three-way tie for 17th. She posted a +22 after the first day of 36-holes. On day two Sudenga continued her upward climb, moving up five more spots to finish tied for 12th. She recorded a total score of 244 (+28) and earned 2.84 points for the Tigers.
- Ashton Austreim (Jr.) finished in the top 20 of the conference championships, tying for 12th place alongside her teammate Sudenga. Austreim recorded a total score of 244 (+28) and contributed 2.84 points to the Tigers overall total
- Kaylee Johnson (Sr.) placed 23rd in the tournament. Closing out with a stroke play of 252 (+36). She earned 1.46 points to the Tigers team total herself.
- Dakotah Larson (Fr.) Larson’s round one and three scores will be counted, that score was +12 in round one and +7 in round two. Giving her a final total of +19 and 2.85 points.
- Kelsey Morrison (Jr.) round two score of +12 was used in place of Larson’s. Larson’s round one score will be counted, that score was +12.
Looking Ahead For The Tigers:
The DWU Tigers wrapped up the GPAC Championships with a strong 2nd place, recording a team score of 958 (+94) and earning 4.86 points. Improving on last year’s 3rd place result. The team’s performance was marked by steady improvement throughout the rounds. The Tigers continue to build momentum as they set their sights on climbing even higher in the GPAC standings in the seasons to come.
This also wraps up the team’s season for the year. Allison Meyerink will start to prepare for NAIA Nationals.
The NAIA Women’s National Golf Championships are May 13-16 in Ypsilanti, Michigan, at the Eagle Crest Golf Club.
