RIVER FALLS, Wis. — Dakota Wesleyan Women’s Golf kicked off its 2025-26 campaign in the state of Wisconsin, competing in the UW-River Falls Falcon Invitational over the course of the weekend.
The Tigers would be led by the previous season’s national qualifier, Allison Meyerink. The sophomore would win the entire tournament individually, finishing both rounds with a combined mark of 154 (+10). She would place second in each respective round, but her consistency would earn her first place, recording a 78 (+6) in round one and a 76 (+4) in round two. She would be supported on the team scoreboard by Ashton Austreim and Sara Sudenga, who both tied for ninth place individually with scores of 167 (+23). They would have identical scores at the end of both rounds, shooting +10 on the first day and +13 on the second. The combined efforts of the top three scorers for the Tigers would help lead DWU to a second-place finish on the team leaderboard, trailing only UW-Stout by the end of the invitational.
Dakota Wesleyan’s group performance would be rounded out by Dakotah Larson and Macee Bartels, who placed 33rd and 45th, respectively. Larson would have a good round one with a mark of 87 (+15) while Bartels would improve her score in round two by one strike, finishing the tournament at an overall score of 181 (+37). A strong performance from all five athletes in their first competition of the season certainly bodes well for the rest of the athletic calendar.
